Services

Aurora Behavior Consulting focuses on increasing the skillset of the natural support systems (i.e. families, parents, caregivers, educators) so that these individuals are able to better understand behavior and effectively implement interventions. Most commonly, behavioral interventions are delivered via a “push in” model that relies on others (i.e. behavior technicians) to be the primary interventionist. This traditional model relies on someone to be added in to deliver intervention, and involvement of natural support systems is often highly variable. In this consultation model, families, caregivers, and educators are trained and coached on implementation of recommended strategies and interventions.

Services include consultation and training based on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Recommended services will vary and a service agreement will outline the details of each individual, family, or team situation.

Aurora Behavior Consulting is here to assist schools, organizations, and childcare settings in increasing staff effectiveness in understanding and addressing challenging behaviors and skill deficits.

  • Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Plan development for individual student(s)
  • Ongoing training, modeling, coaching, and progress monitoring
  • Direct services with an individual student in which BCBA implements interventions, prior to interventions being transitioned to staff implementation, with training and coaching

Group trainings followed by 1:1 (or small group) coaching is beneficial to meet ongoing needs of staff and students.  An individualized service agreement will outline agreed upon services.

Ongoing training, coaching, and progress monitoring will be outlined in an individualized service agreement.
